Maritza Reyes is a bright star among the new generation of Latin American Fashion Designers. Born in Valledupar, Colombia, Maritza grew up in the city of Bogotá. The search for new artistic expressions led her into the world of Fashion. At nineteen she graduated with honors at the Colombian Fashion Institute in Bogotá, Colombia, with a specialization in Computerized Graphic Patterns in 1996, and while living the United States also obtained an Associate Degree in Business Administraton from Florida's, Broward Community College.
Maritza believes it’s important to create a look that reflects her customers personality for the modern and sophisticated woman. She loves the whole process of creativity, from dreaming up new concepts to mixing materials- this is what drives and inspires her. Her creations are the results of visionary perspectives and design combinations that are vividly encompassed in her designs.
In 2004, Maritza moved to Toronto, Canada and began a new life with her family. She was selected among 60 designers to participate in the “Art of Fashion” and has since then been interviewed by various T.V Shows, magazines, radio and newspapers.
Maritza Reyes is the founder and producer of New Fashion Talent Show an Annual Gala Event held in Toronto to raise funds for charity organizations. She is a dream achiever and through this venue she is helping others acheive their dreams, as emerging fashion designers showcase their talent and clothing lines.
